On October 8 and 9, 2001, part of the discussion in my Civil
Procedure class focused on the case of Reid v. San Pedro, Los
Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad. The case involved a cows
owner who sued the railroad when her cow wandered on to the tracks
and was hit and killed by a train.
Professor Rutherglen made a PowerPoint slide to illustrate the scene
of the alleged tort, which included a photograph of a cow he found
on the Internet. I downloaded his presentation, took the cow into
ImageReady and whipped up a little animation, which I subsequently
ported into QuickTime.
